Common Billing Terms
- Base Service Charge: A fixed monthly fee that covers the cost of maintaining poles, wires, and transformers.
- Energy Charge (kWh): The cost of the actual electricity you consumed during the billing cycle.
- PCA (Power Cost Adjustment): A pass-through charge that reflects the fluctuating cost of wholesale power.
- Multiplier: Used for specific meter types to calculate actual energy flow from the raw reading.
Usage Graphs
Your bill includes a 13-month history graph to help you track trends:
- Year-Over-Year: Compare this month to the same month last year for the most accurate efficiency check.
- Daily Average: Your total kWh divided by days in the cycle. Helps identify “vampire loads.”
- Degree Days: Shows how extreme outdoor temperatures impacted your HVAC usage.
