Design, optimize, and maintain the cooperative's geospatial mapping systems and network infrastructure, bridging physical fiber/grid layouts with robust digital architecture to ensure reliable, high-speed utility connectivity.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and update the GIS database with precise spatial data regarding electrical distribution assets, fiber paths, and network routing nodes.
- Configure and manage network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems optimized for SCADA and utility operations.
- Generate advanced geospatial maps and analytical reports to support engineering teams with field navigation, grid expansions, and network design logic.
- Monitor system performance and security protocols to rapidly troubleshoot network disruptions and ensure secure data transmission across utility substations.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a highly related technical field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience utilizing Esri ArcGIS software suite alongside practical administration of enterprise network systems.
- Active professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or an equivalent technical networking designation are highly preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and spatial analysis skills with the ability to translate complex network topology into highly accurate, functional field maps.
